How To Stay Safe While Camping


Many people love camping. Some do camp solo and some camp with the group. Camping is an enjoyable adventure and having a camping trip with family and friends is more fun. It is fun until you are safe and healthy. If you get hurt or have some problems during camp time, you cannot enjoy the trip. 1. Check the Weather:

Before having a camping trip, always check the weather. Weather can change at any moment. So, it will be useful for you if you check the weather before you leave. According to the weather, you can pack those stuff that you need. Check the day-time and the night hours, both. You might need a jacket/ socks/ hats. 2. Bring the Right Gear:

Avoid for rocks and dangling limbs that might in the way of good night sleep. Do not camp under a large gum tree. Few species can drop tree branches at any time. It would help if you did not want a falling branch of a tree at midnight.

5. Aware of wildlife:

When you are camping, you are sure you will get experience with wildlife too. Always use the insect repellent. If you are not camping in a forest, you still need this to prevent insects from a bite. Make sure to use an insect repellent that doesn't mix quickly with water. Check ticks daily, especially in unsuspecting areas of your body. Wear long pants and long-sleeved t-shirts. Always collect current information about your chosen location where you are going and what kind of predators you can find. Keep pepper spray and things you need to protect you. Stay alert all the time. 




6. Practice About Fire Safety:

Pick an open spot away from trees and your tent. Use the provided fire pit and build your blaze with kindling. Keep water handy, and don't hit the hay until the embers have entirely died out. Keep your fire pit 15 feet away from your tent and trees. Keep an eye on it. If you have kids with you, make sure they are not poking it. Teach them about a campfire. Keep it small sized.

7. Be Careful about Allergies:

Keep your allergies medications with you. You may face some unexpected and odd situations. It is a smart way to keep your allergies medicines with you. Take ointment for insect bites. Try to stay safe for things that give you a terrible reaction to allergies. It is a smart way to keep you safe. 

8. Use a Sunscreen:

Never miss to apply your sunscreen. You are walking under the sun or staying under the UV rays always. It is so harmful to your skin. You might have rashes or allergies from it. Even it is cloudy weather, always wear sunscreen. Wearing sunglasses and a hat can protect your eyes and hair from sun rays. Use a lip screen also.

9. Store food safely:

Even outside of the bear country, it is smart to keep food and toiletries out of your tent. Store them in your vehicle or available campground food storage and avoid attracting unwelcome visitors to your campsite if you pack dry foods like fruits, oats, instant noodles, chips, corn flakes, milk, juice, snacks, etc. Pack enough water for you. Use air-tight containers to safe your foods from bugs. 

10. Stay Hydrated: Drink enough water that does not keep you dehydrated. It does not mean that drinking water when you are thirsty. Just drink enough water that does not makes you dehydrated while you are camping. Dehydration will make you sick. It is not an excellent idea to get sick while you are having fun with others.

11. Stay safe from Storm:

Storm moves quickly as soon as you see a flash of lightning or hear thunder take the right actions. Leave the place at risk, Find a shelter, and make sure you are safe. Leave the highest position and the area that can flood. Then find an accommodation. Avoid the tallest tree, rocky walls, metallic objects. If you do not see any shelter, go an open place, stand on your coat or any large rock, and crouch down yourself. If you are in a group, keep a 20-meter distance from each other.
